A little reading to begin with
A SAMPLE FROM CHAPTER ONEWrite a factual description of the item before searching for prices. Include its type, model or version where known, size, included accessories and relevant condition. A generic category such as chair is rarely enough to establish a comparable item. Two versions can look similar while differing in features that buyers legitimately care about.
Describe condition through observable facts rather than persuasive labels alone. A small surface mark, a missing cover and an unverified function are different statements. Do not call something tested unless the relevant lawful, appropriate check actually occurred. This guide provides no technical testing or repair procedure. If safety or operation is uncertain, use the appropriate competent route rather than concealing the uncertainty in a price discount.
Check whether resale is appropriate at all. Confirm ownership and authority to sell, relevant restrictions and product-safety status through the applicable genuine sources. The CPSC resource concerns US recalls and resale; your country has its own authorities and rules. A product appearing in other listings is not evidence that its sale is lawful or safe.
Keep the proposed listing limited to what you know. Avoid unsupported authenticity, compatibility or warranty claims. Original receipts or manufacturer information can clarify identity, but protect private information before showing documents. Good pricing evidence begins with an accurately described item because the comparable search otherwise measures a different product.
